Mike Johnson is the VP of Product Development and Design at Sila. He oversees the development and design of next generation anode products, as well as the development and integration of process technology to ensure manufacturing safety and product performance.

Prior to Sila, Mike worked at Apple where he developed novel processing technology for next generation displays. He also held several functional and leadership roles at Sunpower Corporation where he brought world-record solar cell efficiencies from ideation through to production. Mike also spent several years in the semiconductor industry developing new products and novel processing techniques.

Mike holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington. He held a three-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the Materials Science Division with a focus on novel materials for energy conversion. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer reviewed publications and US patents.
