Who You Are
As an Accounts Director with a focus on the consumer electronics market, you will be responsible for charting markets and cultivating strong customer relationships on a global scale. You will develop engagement strategies and plans for existing and prospective customers, and work in collaboration with technical and commercial stakeholders inside and outside of Sila to identify, qualify, and progress commercial opportunities that align with Sila’s commercial strategy and product roadmap. You will be responsible for crafting contractual agreements for these engagements and multi-year forecasts across customers
Responsibilities and Duties
- Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers at customers, both for yourself and other team members. Understand customer business strategy and needs, decision making processes and people, and organizational dynamics. Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for Sila's solutions. Manage customer expectations and communicate progress effectively.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met in alignment with Sila’s commercial strategy and product roadmap.
- Sales & Forecasting: Develop and execute engagement strategies to achieve revenue targets. Forecast demand across key accounts, creating multi-year projections to inform strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Mentorship & Best Practices: Mentor junior team members on effective customer engagement strategies, business development and sales techniques, and best practices for managing accounts. Contribute to the development and refinement of customer interaction workflows.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies within the consumer electronics sector and effectively share with the team.
- Oversee the daily workflow of account portfolio and opportunity pipeline
- Manage business development and sales activities with key partners, with support from cross-functional team of employees and contractors
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent combination of experience and education in technology industry
- Proven experience in business development, account management, project management, and team leadership with large consumer electronics OEM customers. International experience and familiarity with Asian and European markets preferred
- At least 5-7 years of experience selling into consumer electronics supply chains, especially products requiring physical integration. Experience with batteries or battery components is preferred
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in English. Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in understanding complex technical and commercial concepts
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and customer-centric environment.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location
- At least 50% travel required, both domestic and international
The starting base pay for this role is between $169,000 and $213,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses.
